Diameter follows sample volume: 13mm for 1–2mL, 25mm for around 10mL. An oversized filter simply wastes sample in hold-up volume.
For particle-heavy samples the GD/X series helps: a built-in glass-fibre prefilter traps coarse particles first, delaying blockage of the main membrane and greatly increasing throughput.

Which material for HPLC sample prep?
PES or PVDF for aqueous mobile phases; PTFE or nylon when organic solvent is involved. For protein-containing samples, low-binding PES is the safer choice.
Can these be used for sterile filtration?
Yes, with 0.2µm units for small volumes of media or buffer. For larger volumes use bottle-top or vacuum filtration devices.
